This is a fencing saber with a Solingen-made blade that bears the outfitter’s stamp of [AU]HOLEK GYORGY [BU]DAPEST near the hilt. The blade is gently curved and ends in a spear-point that is symmetrical enough to be original.

The hilt is an elegant but narrow and pierced steel knuckle guard running into a solid cylindrical scroll. The grip is sharkskin wrapped in brass wire, the sharkskin showing some traces of fraying and age. Riveted steel backstrap. Some rust, blade mostly bright.
